The Lamb County Senior Citizens were organized when several senior citizens met March 25, 1981 in Lamb County Judge Don Joyner's office in the courthouse. They voted to purchase the ASCS building and Top Dollar store to be used as the Senior Citizen's Center.
The organization has paid off the building and continued to make improvements.
The Senior Citizens have continued to support other seniors and their community. The Senior Citizens Center serves pot-luck meals at noon every Wednesday, with members taking their favorite dish or by paying a $5 lunch fee.
